I have a long history of helping others. I started my psychotherapy career at a small clinic in Oceanside, California. I became known as a client’s rights advocate – going above and beyond, to ensure appropriate care for my clients. In my private practice at Counseling for Couples, Families, Teens and Children, (and previously at Trilogy Guided Imagery For Healing) located in Orange County California, I am recognized as someone who works with clients, collaboratively, to develop effective and long-lasting results. I offer non-judgmental help, wrapped in unconditional empathy and compassion. In this way you can move beyond current difficulties, and emerge as a stronger, highly functional you.
In clinical therapy circles, I am highly regarded for my knowledge in guided imagery and counseling skills, and am well respected by colleagues who view me as a valued resource. In fact, when colleagues need counseling for themselves or their family members, they come to me for my unique blend of experiential therapeutic guided imagery (meditation) art therapy, and psychodynamic object relations therapy.
I have been a guest speaker for both Hoag Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital, as well as UBS Financial Services, regarding the benefits of guided imagery. Experiential Therapeutic Guided Imagery is an amazing tool to relieve trauma, anxiety, stress and/or tension, no matter the cause. St. Joseph in particular encourages the use of guided imagery for pain management and stress relief with their bariatric, cancer and surgery patients. Guided imagery is approved by insurance companies to help deal with the trauma of a frightening diagnosis, and later with pain management and stress relief before and after cancer treatments and most surgical procedures. I have appeared on a variety of local radio shows answering questions regarding the many benefits of adding guided imagery to medical treatments. Over the past 25+ years I have offered workshops on recovering from emotional, physical, medical and financial traumas. I am skilled at teaching individuals how to manage anger that is negatively impacting their life, and use a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, object relations/psychodynamic therapy, aroma therapy, art, music, and experiential therapeutic guided imagery in my sessions with you. Clients are delighted with their long-lasting symptom relief.
I was able to create my one of a kind approach by constantly researching new ways to help clients achieve healing and health in their lives. It is an extreme honor to be able to work as an emotional therapist, and I am committed to bringing you the latest and best advances in the practice of marriage and family therapy and alternative treatments. I am certified in guided imagery therapy, domestic violence and batterer intervention counseling. I have achieved both Level 1 and Level 2 Clinical Training in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, and have an in depth knowledge of John Gray’s, When Mars and Venus Collide, Theory of male-female stress responses. I am certified as a grief recovery specialist. In addition, starting in 2015 and continuing through 2019, I was an addiction recovery group facilitator, first at Lotus Place Recovery in Fountain Valley, California, and then New Perspective Recovery in Westminster, California. Thus, I have a hands on, in depth knowledge of addiction treatment and 12-step programs, as well as medical treatments for pain, cancer and obesity. All this experience allows me to blend what we do in our sessions with other therapies you might be receiving. And, all of this training has given me an all encompassing view of human behavior, and allows me to create a customized approach to your unique situation
